Increasing value in health care occurs when outcomes that are meaningful to individuals and families are improved. Patient-centered outcomes and patient reported outcomes measures have the ability to transform how health systems, clinicians, payers, and industry partners define, measure, and deliver value in health care. Yet despite growing recognition of their importance, meaningful outcomes measurement remains inconsistently implemented, poorly integrated into clinical and operational workflows, and underutilized as a driver of care improvement and system transformation.
